Earlier this week, I came across an inspiring story that I thought I would share with you all. A boy, in Brigham City, Utah, was embracing his inner entrepreneurial spirit by selling drinks with a marketing strategy that grabbed the attention of many adults in the neighborhood. You see, it grabbed so much attention that the cops were called because he was standing in front of a church holding this sign.

However, when the cops showed up, they learned that he was selling “Ice Cold Root Beer! Rather than shutting his business down, the cops decided to grab a cold one with the boy and they snapped a few photos. The entire interaction was later posted on the Brigham City Police Department’s Facebook Page, which helped spread the word about the boy’s business.

This heartwarming story was inspiring to me because we hear all too often in the news that cops are there to mess with people and ruin their day. But, in this case, when they came across this young entrepreneur, they decided to join in the fun and they made a difference to him. With the constant barrage of negative stories about law enforcement officers, it is nice to be reminded that a majority of police officers are there to help. It’s only the bad apples who make the news. And, that is why it is always great to hear about all the good that police officers do and I wish the media would spend more time focusing on the good cops than the bad ones.
